Motorcycle passenger injured after bike overturns in Obdach

A 59-year-old woman was injured in a motorcycle accident in Obdach in the Murtal district on Sunday, ORF reported. She was travelling as a passenger with a 63-year-old man when the motorcycle overturned.

The pair were travelling on the B78 from Obdach towards Carinthia at about 9 a.m. The rider attempted to turn into a parking area for a break but failed to see an embankment at the exit, according to police.

The motorcycle was almost at a standstill when it tipped over. The rider was uninjured, while the passenger fell from the motorcycle and suffered a shoulder injury.

After receiving first aid, the woman was taken by rescue helicopter to the Wolfsberg hospital. The road was closed for about 45 minutes.
