Schwärzler breaks into world’s top 150 with third Challenger title

Joel Schwärzler has won the ATP Challenger tournament in Grodzisk, Poland, breaking into the world’s top 150 for the first time, ORF Vorarlberg reported.

The player from Hard defeated Italy’s Andrea Guerrieri, ranked 214th in the world, 7-6, 6-1 in Sunday’s final.

Schwärzler earned 75 ranking points for the victory, his third Challenger title.

He is scheduled to play next week’s Challenger tournament in Brownsburg, United States, as preparation for qualifying for the US Open in New York.
