Tractor burns down during journey in Wolfurt

A tractor caught fire while being driven in Wolfurt early Saturday evening, ORF reported. The driver escaped in time but was taken to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.

The tractor was travelling near the concrete bridge over the Rickenbach at about 7 p.m. when it suddenly began to burn. It was soon fully engulfed and completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire remains unclear.

Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control and extinguished it. They also watered the surrounding dry meadows to prevent the flames from spreading.

The driver was taken to Bregenz State Hospital.
