Several witnesses have told police they saw Vanessa Huber, who disappeared from Unterhaching in Bavaria in 2022, in the Rostock area, BR reported. Investigators say there are concrete indications that the 42 year old may be staying near Rostock Warnemünde on the Baltic Sea.
Witnesses reportedly saw Huber at the beginning of this week. Police now have recent video recordings and are looking for a slim woman about 1.75 metres tall with long blonde hair, probably tied in a ponytail. She was wearing a dark blue jacket, jeans and dark shoes and carrying a distinctive red backpack.
Police are asking for information about Huber’s current whereabouts.
Huber disappeared without a trace from Unterhaching in November 2022. Police sought information through the television programme Aktenzeichen XY ungelöst.
Her husband reported her missing on November 7, after the couple had had a serious argument and later reconciled. Police found her bank and credit cards, glasses, wallet, mobile phones, engagement and wedding rings, and identity card in the couple’s apartment.
Her husband became a suspect, but investigators found no concrete evidence of a violent crime. The investigation was closed after his death in 2024. When police presented the case on television several months later, they said a violent crime, suicide or deliberately going into hiding were all possible.
