Police in Burgenland have identified two 17-year-old men suspected of following and threatening two underage girls in Eisenstadt, ORF reports. Police had published images of the suspects on Thursday.
One suspect, from the Neusiedl am See district, voluntarily contacted police at the Gattendorf police station later that day. Investigators subsequently identified the second, who is from the Mattersburg district, according to the Burgenland State Police Directorate.
The incident reportedly took place on June 23. Police said one of the suspects may have been carrying a knife. The girls fled into a drugstore, where the two alleged pursuers were filmed in the entrance area.
During an initial interview, one of the teenagers said he had been in Eisenstadt with his friend on June 23 and that they had come into contact with the girls. He denied threatening them or carrying a knife.
Both teenagers are being questioned. The Ruster Straße police station in Eisenstadt is continuing the investigation.
