Hallein tourism association appoints interim chair after board dissolves
The tourism association in Hallein has dissolved its board and approved new elections, according to ORF. Businessman Alois Schöninger will serve as interim chair until a new board is elected.
Managing director Rainer Candido, who came under criticism after the city festival, will remain in office for the time being.
Hallein Mayor Alexander Stangassinger of the Social Democratic Party said the new board and committee would reassess whether Candido retained their confidence and whether he should continue handling the association’s upcoming tasks.
The next step is to convene a full meeting of the association’s members as soon as possible to elect a new board.
