Detached trailer carrying mobile toilets disrupts rail line near Telfs

A trailer carrying mobile toilet facilities detached from a car and caused rail disruptions near Pfaffenhofen in the Innsbruck-Land district on Thursday afternoon, ORF reported. The load protruded onto the tracks and was struck by a train.

At about 3.47pm, the 42-year-old driver was travelling from Telfs towards Stams on the Tiroler Straße when the trailer suddenly came loose. It crossed a meadow and went down an embankment before coming to rest beside the southern railway track.

Police said the trailer was carrying a portable toilet and a urinal. The load extended onto the track, and a train was unable to stop in time and struck the urinal. Both the train and the trailer were damaged.

Both railway tracks were temporarily closed. The northern track was reopened shortly afterwards, while the southern track remained closed for more than an hour.
