Salzburg, storms, Uttendorf

The Tobersbach overflowed in Uttendorf in Salzburg’s Pinzgau region on Thursday evening after a severe storm, according to ORF. A retention basin on the stream either broke or overflowed, sending large volumes of water through part of the village.

Fire brigades were deployed in a major operation. Severe thunderstorms and storms had already caused numerous emergency callouts across Salzburg from the afternoon onwards.

The municipality of Uttendorf in the Upper Pinzgau region appeared to be among the worst affected. Video footage filmed by a resident showed a fast-flowing stream making its way through houses and fields.

No further details were immediately available.
