Truck tears down trolleybus wires in Salzburg, causing major traffic jams

A truck became caught in trolleybus overhead wires in Salzburg on Thursday, tearing part of the system down and causing extensive traffic jams, ORF reported. The incident happened at midday in Münzgasse.

For safety reasons, the truck driver initially had to remain in the cab while emergency crews switched off the electricity. No one was injured.

Salzburg’s professional fire brigade responded with four vehicles and 16 personnel, alongside specialists from Salzburg AG. The incident caused traffic chaos in the summer heat.
