Three men face trial over alleged torture of two victims

Three men are facing trial at a regional court over allegations that they held two young men captive for hours in a Vienna apartment and subjected them to severe violence, according to ORF.

The alleged motive was a debt of 100 euros. The victims, aged 21 and 22, were allegedly beaten, humiliated and tortured with a sword, a shotgun and a stun gun. The indictment also alleges an extreme level of sexualised violence.

The defendants, aged 20, 21 and 23, are charged with rape, grievous bodily harm, aggravated coercion, unlawful deprivation of liberty and other offences. They are being tried before a panel of judges and lay judges.

According to the indictment, one of the victims owed the defendants 100 euros. The defendants allegedly dealt in cannabis, which the two victims had bought from them weekly since early 2024.
